Portrait of Alexander Escalera
About

Hi, I'm Alexander.

I'm a former data scientist who fully transitioned into UI and UX design. I learned both data science and human-computer interaction through the Informatics program at the University of Washington, alongside several academic research programs.

In my most recent role at General Motors, I worked as a UX/UI designer, primarily on enterprise tools for data analysis. I've also designed for an ebook reader and run A/B tests for Principal Financial Group's website.

With that background, I aim to balance quantitative and qualitative data when making design decisions — the numbers matter, but so does understanding what's causing them.
